What certifications will I receive?

Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded nationally accredited certifications, including:

  • HLTAID011: Provide First Aid: Comprehensive training covering emergency response techniques for a wide range of situations, including injuries, illnesses, and CPR.

  • Once you’ve confirmed your booking for the training, you’ll be sent an email with a confirmation of your booking and a link to “Vasto”, our student management and online learning system. Once you’re there, simply follow the prompts to log in, and complete your enrolment by entering your details into the system.

  • When you’re logged on and fully enrolled, you can complete the online knowledge and theory component of your training at your own pace, and whatever time you choose. Once this is done, you’re able to take part in your Zoom training session – a 2-hour interactive training session to practice and demonstrate practical first aid skills for your trainer.

  • The length of time needed to complete the online learning component of the course depends on your previous skills and experience, but it’s generally wise to set aside at least half a day.

  • You’ll require a Zoom capable device – such as a laptop (with webcam), tablet, or smartphone – and a reliable internet connection.

Zoom-base Training and Practical Skills Assessment

A practical, effective alternative to in-person, face-to-face training

FirstAidPro has chosen Zoom for online training because it’s simple, easy to use, and effective – it really is one of the best tools on the market for online meetings and training workshops. Thus it’s the best choice for remotely delivering nationally recognised first aid and CPR training.

All our Zoom trainers are fully accredited first aid instructors with years of training and first aid experience.

  • The web link to the zoom seminar will be provided in Vasto – just log on to the Vasto student portal and check your course information to find it. You’ll need Zoom set up on your device first – meaning you’ll need to have an account with Zoom (this is free and only takes a few minutes). If you’re using a tablet or smartphone, you’ll also need Zoom installed. On a laptop (or desktop computer with a webcam) it’s easiest to have the app installed, but you can also run Zoom from a web browser as long as you have an account.

  • The course is fully interactive, and you’ll be able to see and interact with the trainer and other students – who will also be able to see you. You’ll need to make sure the camera and microphone on your device are switched on and working, or the trainer won’t be able to see and hear you to assess your skills.
  • The Zoom session will test the practical first aid skills you’ve learned. This will involve scenario-based role play and some physical activity – including 2 minutes of CPR on both an adult and an infant-sized manikin performed on the floor (all provided in your resource pack). You’ll need to ensure that the camera on your zoom device can be angled down to show your manikin on the floor as you work.
  • In addition to a Zoom capable device (a laptop, tablet or smartphone), you’ll need a reliable internet connection.

How do I join a Zoom training session?

  1. Get a Zoom account – log onto the Zoom website (https://zoom.us/) and click “Sign up, it’s free” to get started
  2. Install the zoom app on your device and log in (Alternatively, on a laptop, you can log into the Zoom website and run Zoom through the browser)
  3. Log onto the Vasto student portal, and check your course info for the Zoom link. Click on the link to start joining the Zoom session.
  4. If the link doesn’t work, click “join a meeting” and enter the meeting ID provided in Vasto.
  5. When Zoom asks for your name, MAKE SURE YOU ENTER IT AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR COURSE REGISTRATION (the trainer will not allow you into the session unless you’re registered).

Certificates Issued FAST On Completion

Upon completion of your course requirements, you’ll receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment certificate. This is accessed digitally through Vasto in the comfort and convenience of on-demand with files for downloading or printing as needed! (T&C)
